Thrift Haul 8/4/23: Indiana Glass, Libbey, Anchor Hocking

I told myself I was on a thrifting break this weekend … so why did I find myself at the thrift store at 9:30am this morning? I can’t resist the pull of my fav Goodwill, but I’m patting myself on the back for not hitting up any estate sales.

Here’s what I scored for a 20 dollar bill.

A couple things, like the clear glass mushroom container, the cheap-o “Just Hangin’” halloween napkins + paintable wood figures, and the orange kitschy cat stackable storage thing are personal little treasures I couldn’t leave on the GW shelves. Everything else will be listed for sale in the Etsy shop.

Anchor Hocking Avocado Green Country Estate Bowl set

Paid $3.09
SOLD | Selling for $40

Anchor Hocking made the Country Estate pattern in the 1960s in a few different colors: avocado green, honey gold and clear glass. This pattern features a textured flower petal-like pattern (which I’ve seen referred to as both sunflower and daisy) with a raised hobnail pattern on the bottom; the interior of these pieces are smooth.

Indiana Glass Colony Whitehall Glasses in Light Blue

Paid $3.09
SOLD | Selling for $45 (although I’m hoping no one buys them bc I *not so* secretly want to keep them)

Indiana Glass Co produced the Whitehall pattern for Colony in the early 1960s. You can find this pattern in quite a few colors: clear, harvest gold, amber, ruby, ruby flash, peach, light blue (which is what I scored today), riviera blue, teal green, aqua green, avocado green and smoke gray.

I’m not gonna lie, y’all, the longer I look at these, the deeper in love I fall — which is saying a lot bc I’m not typically a huge fan of blue glass. (sorry, mom!) They’re just so pretty! I’ve already made room for them in my Brasilia hutch and they’re currently displayed with my personal mid-century cocktail glass collection. I do have them listed on FB Marketplace to see if I get any local hits, but am dragging my feet a bit to get them listed on Etsy.

Caution, you might be witnessing the beginning of a new collection. After doing some research and seeing all the colors, maybe I need the rainbow lol

Libbey Glass Co Cocktail Mixing Glass

Paid $0.89
Selling for $15

Although not wildly rare or exciting as far as I know, this planty-themed vase / cocktail mixing glass for .89 cents was impossible to leave. Cats, plants and vintage are the three loves of my life (*cough cough* after my niece and nephew, of course) so this piece combining two of the three was a no-brainer bc as Meat Loaf taught us: two out of three ain’t bad.

More research to come on this dude soon.

Jasco Country Stencil 10″ Taper Candles

Paid $0.89
Selling for $10

I really debated these Jasco taper candles bc I was trying realllll hard to be super picky today but the butterflies were just too cute to leave behind. If they don’t sell, I’m not out much and I won’t hate being stuck with them.

Real question for y’all tho: Would you burn these or just display them?
